FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How big of a space do I need for the traveling sauna?

The sauna footprint is 7’Wx17’Lx11’H (including the tow hitch on the front) and will need a few feet on each side for clearance.

Can you show me a walk-through introduction idea of what I can experience when renting the sauna?

How Far Will You Travel?

I've traveled as far as 250 miles from Port Austin, MI. I'll let you know what the additional total is if you're looking to have this delivered to you. We can also work on an upfront fee for a pop-up retreat or festival, if you'll have us.

What do I have to do for setting it up?

We will position it to your desired location, lower the sauna to ground level & make sure you have enough wood for your rental session.

How does a wood fired sauna stove work?

Same procedure as starting a fire with newspaper, kindling and adding bigger pieces as it grows. In-person instructions will also be given at drop-off.

What are drop-off and pick-up times?

We will coordinate drop-off convenient times for you beginning around 3pm EST on the 1st day of your rental.

Pick-up time will be early afternoon on the final day of your rental. We typically aim around 11am pick up.

How long do I stay in a sauna?

The authentic practice is typically 3 rounds of approximately 12-15 minutes each. But we ask that you listen to your body and leave the hot room whenever you feel the need. In between rounds you cool off outside for approximately 5 minutes. Winter air, cold water splashed on skin and the best is a roll in the snow when available!  This is known as a thermal cycle – Hot, cold, rest, rehydrate, repeat. If you decide to do cold water immersion between sauna sessions, you are benefitting your body greatly.

What is Contrast Therapy?

Contrast Therapy is an alternating action between a cold shower plunge and the warmth of the sauna to help accelerate the body's recovery processes, reducing inflammation and enhancing circulation. Contrast therapy enhances your mental clarity: The shock of cold followed by the comfort of heat fine tunes your mental focus and is a great attunement to our mental health. Contrast therapy also strengthens immunity: regular sessions can boost your immune system, helping you fight off becoming under the weather more effectively. Being in a sauna helps form community: By huddling up together in this intense, rejuvenating experience, we find that it strengthens bonds and cultivates a supportive communal atmosphere.
